Description

Bri-Glen is an eclectic yet peaceful and relaxing garden created by an enthusiastic and resourceful gardener!

Situated on a corner block and screened with a hedge of red flowering callistemons, the garden has evolved over many years and now is crammed with an extensive assortment of plants and a quirky collection of garden ornaments.

Although an informal cottage garden, several hedges and a number of shrubs have been clipped and shaped to add interest and a sense of formality. Paths meander through linking different areas: the fire pit, several sheltered and shady sitting spots and a small secret children’s garden.

Throughout there are birdbaths, water features, statuary, many potted plants, structures for climbing plants, mosaics made by the owner and attractive old farm gates cleverly reused at the entrance to garden beds.

Spring flowering perennials including a number of salvias and showy purple statice, annuals and grasses intermingle creating a blend of flowers and foliage. A backdrop of trees selected for the colour and varied shapes of their leaves include a date palm, several species of conifer, a group of burgundy leafed prunus, and a lovely flowering crabapple.

With a diverse selection of plants and the imaginative placement of garden ornaments and found objects, Bri-Glen is full of personality as well as plants!

Extra activities: plants, candles and 'succulent art' for sale; variety of food and drinks; live musical entertainment and a 'Kids' Corner'.

Please note: there is a small fishpond.

Size: 0.5 acres; 0.2 hectares

The chosen charity for this garden is the Leukemia Foundation.
