Lobethal vineyard webWhat a terrible few days we have had here in South Australia due to the bush fires, along with the rest of the nation. Our heartfelt praise and thanks go out to the CFS, SES and SAPOL who worked in horrendous conditions to save life, homes and battle the fires.

Launch19 1 webThe Season Launch was held at the stunning home and garden of Margaret and Brian Baker at Heathfield on Sunday 18th August. The large group of Members, Media and Garden Owners braved the wild winter weather, driving through snow and hail to celebrate our 5th Opening.

In the 2018/19 season, we had more than 50 gardens open and these gardens attracted more than 21,000 visitors. We are pleased that we have been able to keep the entry fees unchanged since Open Gardens SA launched in 2014.

Our two recent events were both sold out. Thirty people attended a tour of the Cedars at Hahndorf (photo above) on 5th May and the same number visited Simon's Organic Nursery at Currency Creek on April 27.

Garden Joans web

OGSA called for applications in January for $3000 grants for up to three Community Gardens. The succesful gardens are the Mt Gambier Old Gaol Community Garden, Joan's Patch and the Trott Park Community Garden.
